William Burton Rogers, born to Neal David Rogers and Hazel Rogers
(Maiden name, Bell) on November 13 1921, on the farm west of Wibaux
Montana and just inside the Dawson County line.
William (Billy) Burton Rogers died in a head-on train wreck at Harmon
North Dakota on January 13, 1951 at 3:10 p.m. He was a firemen
for the Northern Pacific Railway (NPRy). This wreck would turnout
to be a historical event because it would be the last ALL STEAM ALL
NPRy wreck involving two trains. Engine’s road number was
1756. It was a 2-8-2 Alco-Brooks.
